Step 1
According to your requirements, draw a body piece of the balsa on on the balsa wood sheet. The plane should be designed with the length between 6 and 8 inches, and height between 1 and 2 inches. In front of the plane, a narrowed nose should be built. Mark off a notch in the back of the body.
Step 2
Mark off a notch in the center of the front of the fin which is similar to the notch in the body you have just made. The rear fin can be tapered depending on your needs to narrow up front. And the rear fin is with the depth of one inch and with about 2 to 3 inches.
Step 3
The wings should be designed as long as the body piece and as wide as the center slot cut into the body piece. You can taper off the wing slightly just like what you have done with the fin. Cut out the pieces of balsa wood according to your design with the crafting knife.
Step 4
Align the notches to insert the tail fin into the balsa body of the plane and push them together. The flat sides should be parallel to the ground when the plane is thrown and the fin should be perpendicular to the body. Slid and center the wing pieces through the slot cut into the body to insert the wings. The balsa wood plane will be ready to throw after sliding the propeller clip onto the front.
